Welcome to the website of Mahara Sculpture Park and
Pottery, a magical and supremely peaceful haven in 10 acres
of loveliness set in the Tapu Valley, right in the heart of
the Coromandel Peninsula, just a few kilometers north of
Thames. A piece of paradise combining a blend of the
manicured with more than a touch of the wildside, the result
of years of dedication and vision by Heather Chesterman.
Some of the features you will enjoy:
•
Heathers working pottery along
with a myriad of her unique
creations
•
A 7 circuit Cretan Labyrinth to
centre yourself
•
The Willow Dome
•
The Stone Circle, particularly
haunting and beautiful on a full
moon night
•
Easy Bush Walks through tree
fern forests with eclectic works
of art, all with just enough “wild”
to know you are here and
immersed in the experience
•
Glorious gardenscapes filled with
unique pottery, sculpture, water
features and room to spread out
•
Organic and powerful works
sculpted on site in the Hammer
Dome
•
A Swing with a view, such a
view.......
•
The feeling of being refreshed,
enhanced and at peace.
All of this and more cradled within the forested hills of the
Tapu Valley, overlooked by the majestic Maumaupaki “The
mountain that entraps fair skies”, source of much creative
inspiration and daily enjoyment
Heather trusts that from these pages you get a “feel” for
Mahara and are able to make the space in your life to come
and share the experience of this magic spot, walk the ways
and leave refreshed.
