February - 2016 Treedragon Speaks (rumblings of the less obvious)
Now that heading reads just a tad portentous although it’s more attention grabbing and has got you this far, or maybe it’s just the fact nothing has been writ, a hiatus so to speak of words and images, since November 2015, a lifetime of leaf raking one could argue........ more
Terrifying?? (well for some it seems :-)
Now isn’t he handsome!!  What self respecting Tree Weta female wouldn’t be gaga over this handsome chappie, as for females of different species...... well the gaga bit might be right but the screams were epic............. more
Of Fungus,Figs and Fire - Straw Kiln Firing
Indeed the last months mention of fungal fantastics has started along with a feast of figs, daily appearing as if they are racing the fields of fungi to fruit the light fantastic. Now it is to be noted that too many fat figs consumed at one time can be problematic and usually trigger rapid....................... more
Autumn Sky Fire with a dose of Leaf Raking
Tis Autumn for sure, leaf litter abounds and afternoon escapes to the beach present a sun startlingly close to a northern horizon, odd really considering the warmth that enwraps one of a dusky evening. The first winter hints are likely but days away according to gurus of the weatherish sort and.................. more

Monumental Meanderings
Okay then we have had a frost, well at least I was up early enough to see it....... but so far that does not a winter make, but give it time, as maybe that combined with the current rate of firewood consumption and it WILL be winter indeed. September  -  2016 View from the Top
One might ask what happened to August September? One did and no suitable answer was found just like last month, Deja vu, just memories of even more soggy days. As for the view well I have been meaning to get up there for quite a while now......... more
October  -  2016 Rain and Tea Water
It’s still raining with a regular monotony subtly spiced with little enough sun that much growth is slowed, except for the grass of course, except for the grass. The streams and rivers run in shades of milk tea in their rise and fall rush to the sea, sorta like foamed tea really you see......... more
Drowning Dragons
Such a sad sight that of a Dragon downed, almost drowned....... Soggy and limp with colours no more than a sodden shimmer, a quiver in the water to signal that life still hovered though not with the usual grace of an attack helicopter in disguise, it HAD to be rescued..............
