Let me introduce you to Heather’s Pottery, very much the equivalent to a “bloke’s shed”, definitely a sanctum and place of quiet introspection even with “National Radio” always playing in the background, totally a place of work and definitely dusty......... Sitting at the beat up old table Heather, (yes that’s her below), continues a long standing history of potters in the Coromandel Peninsula.  Heather produces a wide range of distinctive designs hand built in various clays sourced from around New Zealand, the Mahara property, as well as Australia. Pottery samples can be found on this page here These days most pieces are fired in the electric kiln until toasty perfection is achieved however there is also the option of a traditional wood fired kiln, a pit kiln or even a temporay one off straw kiln out in the garden.
