Mahara Walks The Bamboo Forest
This walk is a very peaceful and unique space in an unexpected corner of the property. Comments about it are particularly towards the calming energy down near the stream. There are hints of this hidden gem to be seen from behind the Stone Circle as one looks way down into the Te Kaka Stream. With it’s exotic mix of native New Zealand flora, huge old-man pines, the bamboo forest interspersed with Nikau Palms and tree ferns, bisected by the rocky stream yet held together with a gentle carpet of golden bamboo leaves and thus we have we have a distinctly beautiful and peaceful retreat space of soft quietness aglow with the fleeting touch of dappled sunlight. Bamboo and Stone the theme, with hints of the primitive yet to be created. A challenge to photograph but worthy of the attempt I feel and hopefully the images below will allow for a sense of feel inherent in the magic of the Bamboo Forest. Feedback from sneak previews is proving to be most positive.
