Mahara Walks The Sculpture Walk
The Sculpture Walk A longer walk of around 15 minutes or more that starts near the Hammer Dome and takes you through the Nikau Grove into the tree fern forest. Along the way there are all sorts of eclectic and quirky sculptures to be seen as you meander through the naturally regenerating native bush. A few minutes on the formed track sees you at Kauri Tops where there is a fine view down onto the Labyrinth and of the surrounding hills. The track then steps down into the Tree Fern forest again, then it’s over The Swamp bridge and out to the Labyrinth, Swing, and Pyramid area. Below are some samples of the varied collection to be found along the track. Although this is a ”sculpture walk” the most common comments are about the peaceful. loving nature typified by these walks, the essence of Mahara, a feeling rather than anything that can be imaged.
